Why the split matters
Aggregate size hides who is standing there
A conventional ladder shows one number per level. That number treats a single institutional order and a crowd of retail orders as the same thing, and they behave nothing alike.
Biggest x total
Every level shows the largest single resting order and the level total, side by side.
Boxed extremes
The biggest level on each side is boxed, so the wall you actually care about is findable without reading every row.
Size-priority decimation
When depth gets dense, rows drop by size rather than by position, so the levels that matter survive the cull.
Bid / ask split bar
A header bar shows the balance of resting size across the visible book at a glance.
Trades on the ladder
Prints land next to the level they hit, with running totals per side.
Volume column
A per-level volume column sits alongside the book, so resting and executed size are readable together.

Questions
Can I trade from the ladder?
Not yet. The current release is read-only against the feed, with a built-in simulator for practising entries and exits on live data. Trading from the ladder is coming, and it will be on Rithmic accounts.
How many levels does it show?
As many as fit, decimated by size when depth is dense. The visible book is whatever your Level 2 feed carries.
Is it the same book as the heatmap?
Yes — both read the same shared tick cache, so the ladder and the heatmap are always describing the same instant.
